Oh my gosh! Had to share my success in fasting! I'm on day TWO!!! I had 2 hunger pangs the first day and just drank some water and bam gone! I did view all the videos and got informed. I'm so excited to be on this journey to better health! THANK YOU for sharing what you found.

By any chance, do you have a shopping list of items? I'm going through my pantry and disposing of sugared items. I had already ditched processed foods a couple months back. Would you consider a field trip to HEB?

I'm so excited and blessed.

Off all meds as of a week and a half ago. BP is hovering around 100/70. Donated blood this past Sunday. Cholesterol lowest I've ever had: 173. Only 6.6 pounds to lose for this contest. Hoping to do my official verified weigh-in Saturday morning (started my current fast Sunday noonish after eating a couple meals on Saturday and one Sunday morning when my body told me it was time to do so). My new weight loss goal (after the contest) is another 20-30 pounds more. But I'm not planning to accomplish it in one month like I have this last month. Gonna go with a 20/4 or 18/6 (or one meal per day) IF plan. Sticking with ketosis for now--at least mostly so. Maybe do a 24 or 48 hour fast ever week or two, or ever month or two. We'll see....

My next cardiologist appointment is in a couple weeks. For once, I'm actually looking forward to the appointment and the blood tests.

Thank you for your help!

FOLLOW-UP: Cardiologist was VERY happy with my numbers. Said I was probably the biggest turnaround success story she's ever seen.

I am still eating the LCHF diet and 12 hour fasting at night.  Eating at around 5:30 p.m. and not eating again until morning. I check for sugar and carb count on everything but most of what I eat is the real deal food - not processed. I have never been hungry & I have actually lost 5 lbs since I saw you on Thursday. I only wanted to lose 10 lbs. total to get me to my last summer weight so when that happens I will continue with what I am doing  but will need to increase something but not sure what that is.  Maybe you & Susanne can give some advise on that subject.

I eat the good foods that are listed on dietdoctor.com and can really taste the flavors more than before. Whole milk is really tasty! And I have always loved all the different cheeses but held back because of the fat & calories. I repeat, I am not hungry because I eat 3 meals of all the suggested foods.  I have never felt better about food in my life.

This is amazing and really simple.

I can’t wait to see blood work results but I don’t go for my annual until October.

Thanks again,

Jessie,

I wanted to share with you something significant that happened to me
yesterday.  Because of your discussions with me on fasting, I started doing
some preliminary research on fasting.  Accidentally, I came across an
article by one of the doctors that I trust and follow.  It turns out that
there  seems to be a solid link between fasting and a reduction in side
effects from chemotherapy.  Even more importantly, it seems that fasting
before treatments can also improve the effectiveness of the chemo drugs.
Boy, I sure wish I had known this back in 2011 when I first started chemo.

What was particularly compelling is that they have done research at the
cellular level to determine WHY it seems to work.  For the life of me, I
have no idea why oncologists are not embracing this more.  Unless a patient
had side effects that would prevent fasting, it seems to be a great idea.
The article even encouraged the oncology community to do more studies and to
prescribe it to patients for which it is appropriate.

I can't stop thinking about what I read yesterday.  It truly is an epiphany
for me, because of the scientific research they've done in which I believe.
So, when I have my next treatment, I'm going on a 2-3 day fast beforehand.
The research said 2-3 days was better than just 1 day.  I've done 2 days
several times without any problems, but not 3 day fast.  I may have to
"practice" once or twice before my treatment at the end of August.

Again, I cannot thank you enough.  I never would have thought to research
fasting at all unless you had talked to me about the overall benefits of
fasting.  I just wanted to know that you have made a difference in my life.

One must be committed to good health. As Jessie has pointed out we are responsible for our own health. Doctors today are not trained in prevention, they tend to be puppets of Big Pharma. I never thought I could go 120 hours of fasting. If you told me 6 weeks ago to do it I would have thought it impossible.
