Ahhh...Bone Broth

When you start learning about intermittent fasting, you always end up hearing about bone broth. Why is that? Because it is something you can have while you are fasting. Not only it it delicious and can have spices added for a variety of flavors, it has lots of benefits as well. Some of these benefits are: Reduces inflammation. Strengthens bones, joints, and ligaments. Improves digestion and heals the gut. Boosts the immune system. Improves cellulite. Improves skin and hair. Assists in healing autoimmune disorders. Not to mention it is high in vitamins and minerals.

Yesterday, we had one of our Bistro Buddies from Meetup.com, John, come to the house and learn to make bone broth. There are a plethora of recipes for bone broth on the Internet. I use my pressure cooker to make mine. It only takes about two hours in the cooker and it works great. When stored in the fridge, it gels up overnight just like it is supposed to. We had a great time visiting John, and even played a round of Chickenfoot (dominoes) while the bone broth cooked. We tasted some we already had made up. We like to try different spices like an Italian blend, a pepper/garlic steak rub, a cajun blend, and even an Indian Vindaloo blend. It was all very tasty and we really enjoyed the day. We sent most of the broth home with John, but still had enough if we want to fast next week.

So, Google bone broth, and check out the benefits and the many recipes. Ask a friend over to join you and make an afternoon of it! Get on the FAST track to dietary health!
